Dr John McGwynne
General Practitioner
John graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1985. This was followed by Internship at the Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth, where he gained much Practical experience in Surgery, Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The following 2 Years were taken up working as a Doctor during compulsory Military Service, from which much practical experience was obtained.
John then worked as a Medical Registrar and Accident and Emergency Doctor, after which he went overseas to London and started Specialising in Haematology. The prospects of working in a Lab without much clinical contact with patients caused him to change his mind, and he emigrated to New Zealand in 1994, where he has worked in General Practice ever since.
His Scope of Practice covers all aspects of General Practice and Family Medicine, and he offers a personal, informal and friendly service.
He also does Immigration Medicals, Acc cases, Minor Surgery and is especially keen on Paediatrics.
